Ionian Blue

Crystal-Clear Coves & White Pebble Shores

Ithaka's beaches are intimate, uncrowded, and blessed with some of the clearest water in the Mediterranean. Most are reachable within a short drive or boat ride from Vathi.

Filiatro Beach

Turquoise water framed by green hills — one of Ithaka's most photographed spots. A mix of pebbles and sand with shallow entry, suitable for families.

Access: 10-minute drive from Vathi, with parking above the beach.

💡 Arrive before 10 AM in July–August for the best spot. Small canteen on-site.

Gidaki Beach

Accessible by boat or a 40-minute hike from the road, this remote white-pebble beach rewards the adventurous traveler with pristine water.

Access: Boat from Vathi (10 min) or hike from the road above.

💡 Water taxis run from Vathi harbour in summer. Bring water and shade — there are no facilities.

Dexa Beach

A sheltered pebble cove near Vathi, perfect for a quick morning swim. Calm water and easy access make it ideal for a spontaneous dip.

Access: Walking distance from Vathi centre (15 minutes along the bay).

Sarakiniko Beach

A peaceful stretch with clear water and a backdrop of olive groves. Less visited than Filiatro, offering genuine tranquility.

Access: Short drive from Vathi, signposted from the main road.

Mnimata Beach

Tiny, secluded cove south of Vathi with deep blue water and dramatic cliffs. A true hidden gem.

Access: Accessible by boat or a steep path — suitable for confident hikers.

Skinos Bay

A quiet bay near Kioni with crystal-clear water, surrounded by cypress trees and typical Ionian scenery.

Access: Short walk from Kioni village.
